I put together a screen from display boards and now it's like having a drive-in theater in my living room. I thought about plugging in an LED lamp, but it will require a different power transformer. Too bad it's not 16x9, but for this price I'm happy.

I have been using my old Commodore 64 monitor with a mirror angling the light up into an overhead projector. But it is very dim, and left, right are backwards. Fair, and workable, but not great.
I am impressed with this projector for the price. The 35 watt lamp is bright. Like a Kodak slide projector. It doesn't take up much room. It has a on-screen-display, and adjustments for brightness, color, hue, and saturation. Uses straight RCA composite A/V plugs. I use an S-video to RCA composite cable w/sound from my computer. Works Great. Bulbs are cheap and can last 3-10000 hours depending on TYPE.
Is it perfect? No. It has a "screen" effect if you are close up to the picture. This is the reflector in the bulb. So a smoother bulb is needed. But you are going to be sitting back, so it is not so noticeable, and you can adjust the focus so it is slightly blurred and is not noticeable.
All in all a great little projector. It does all I need. And I have BIG SCREEN in my bedroom for 3-10 times LESS MONEY!!!!!!
Thanks Heartland America!!

This is a great little projector for the kids or for the family that wants that 'movie theater' feel on a tight budget. The cost of lamps for one of these projectors is less than $10. They can be found at Lowe's, Home Depot and Wal-Mart. Cartoons look especially good on this projector. This projector is meant to be viewed in a dark room, just like in a real theatre. If you want a plasma or LCD TV, don't buy this projector. You can't expect a Lexus for the price of a Kia.
