I have one mounted outside,it takes the cold below zero temps good, and also the heat.at night the picture on the camera is as good as it is in the day time. I have the Receiver in my office which is fifty foot from the camera and in the back of my house it is pluged into a 12 inch TV which i use for my monitor. the sound is very clear and you can bring it up or down on your remote and hear every thing thats going on outside
