I was very excited to make my own beef jerky since I can't stand the oversalted and expensive store bought stuff. The instructions don't tell you how to do jerky so I got the recipe from Wikipedia. I used only two trays; it took 6 hours. I switched levels and rotated the trays every hour. It came out fine and I plan on being the happy camper. It is the best jerky I've ever had!!
I must warn you though to preheat the heating coil after you turn the unit upside down and shake off any possible plastic remnants that will burn to the coil if you don't. So before heating it; give the coil a rubdown between your fingers to make sure there is no plastic on them.
