Hi there! I’m Jess, the Web Content Manager here at Heartland America! In 2018 I graduated from Metro State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Marketing emphasis. I started my journey here at HLA in February of 2021 after deciding it was time for a change from working as a Marketing/Tech Specialist at National Salon Resources, a salon wholesale distributor. As HLA adds a stronger focus to our digital presence in addition to the mail order catalogs, we are experiencing exciting new growth in so many ways. While this can be challenging experiencing an explosion of growth in such a short time, we’re up for the challenge.
My focus here at HLA is on helping to create a great experience when you visit our new website, which includes writing Helpful Guides, product information, helping select which products we sell on the website, and growing our digital presence overall. We have a company culture at HLA that is fun and supportive, with many truly awesome people that work here who have a passion for what they do. Plus, I get to learn more about a wide variety of products every day (believe it or not, I didn’t know anything about pole saws or generators before working here).
As a Twin Cities, MN native I enjoy spending time fishing on many of the beautiful lakes we have throughout the state, skiing/snowboarding, journaling, and camping. I have a silly white Labrador/Great Pyrenees mix named ‘Harley’ and an extremely clingy tuxedo cat with a mustache named ‘Ninja’. With a love for travel, I enjoy getting to meet new people from all walks of life and exchanging stories. I’d also consider myself a thrifty person as I’m always on the lookout for the best prices possible (another reason HLA is a great fit for me!). Why pay more for something if you don’t have to, right?
I hope my writing for Heartland America’s ‘Helpful Guides’ proves to be ‘helpful’ as the name entails. And if they aren’t helpful to you, at least entertaining to read! Feel free to connect with me on any of my personal social platforms or through Heartland’s profiles. I’d be more than happy to hear your input if you have any comments, questions, or suggestions.
