And like the original it also features AM/FM stereo bands so you can catch your favorite talk shows & music, SW bands (3000-28000KHz) so you can listen to worldwide broadcasts, variable RF gain control, world clock with two alarms, backlit LCD display, wide/narrow selectivity, independent bass & treble controls for custom sound & built-in telescopic and ferrite bar antennas. I had an older version(1998) and it was very good....I had it attached by velcro to the inside of my UPS truck above the driver door til I retired in 2010!! This new model has added features that make it so good, I almost un-retired (never). I feel that no one can find a better radio, especially, at the price!! I do not use the short wave yet, but am sure it must be every bit as good as the AM/FM bands.
